As Josef Nagy (cais28) has pointed out to me, MUMPS on linux can't do a database larger than 2GB if it's a 32 bit linux. If the linux variety is 64 bit, larger databases are possible. MUMPS allows up to just under 512 TB or half a Petabyte.

FreeBSD has always allowed a database larger than 2GB. Currently OSX does too (don't know about earlier versions of OSX). As for windoze et al I just don't know.

Hi,

Since kernel 2.4.0 and glibc 2.2.0 Linux has Large File Support.
Use "-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE" when compiling the sources.
