Hi, I have upgraded all builds (FreeBSD, linux (x86 and ARM) and OSX) of MUMPS
to version 1.58. This enables common database formats between the x86 and ARM
platforms. Note that the compiler version has changed and this will require a
recompile of all routines in every UCI.

see https://sourceforge.net/projects/mumps/

The common database "version" is great solution !

What kinds of changes did you have to make to MUMPS V1 for such a wide variety of builds? Did you build a "transportable" layer or did you specialize the code for each platform?

There is very little specialised code in there - FreeBSD, linux (x86 or ARM) and OSX are all basically the GNU toolchain and libraries. The special bits are done with the #ifdef #else #endif construct.

Porting to micro$oft (something I have no intention of doing) would be a different story - although, John WIllis has posted on these boards that he is interested in doing just that using Cygwin.

Just tried Arch Linux ARM on the Raspberry Pi with MUMPS; works fine. Just
download mumps-1.59.tar.gz from SourceForge and move mumps-1.59.raspi to mumps.
