Good evening from Bern

I started programming in MUMPS back in 1984 while working for a meeting of lutheran christians in germany. After developing all infrastructure modules myself, I visited the MUG meeting in San Diego, attended a class teached by a certain Michael Distaso, got a KERNEL Tape and ported my application to VISTA (Fileman, KERNEL). That helped me to bring in VISTA modules, when working for a hospital (German Heart Institute Berlin) later in my career.

Loved it travelling to San Francisco and working with folks at the VA ISC there.

Got my degree in economics, moved to Switzerland in 2007 and am now working as a controller here.

On the research side I am trying to build a thesis about success factors of health it projects.

No programming right now, but still feel an itch when having to use excel/access (this was so much easier when done in fileman...).

Hi Marcus. Welcome to Mumpster!

For those who don't know the story, Marcus is also famous for spending his vacation one year at the VA San Francisco Information Systems Center helping to create the Dialog file and File Manager's overall internationalization framework.
