I'm a fifty year old commercial photographer living in a small city in Missouri. So what am I doing here? Well, for seventeen years I was a programmer with the University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine, and for most of that time we had a Hospital Information System that was written in-house in MUMPS. I started with that in 1991, and quickly got involved with the MUMPS Development Committee, because I'm a standards geek.
After a while I ended up chairing one of the subcommittees, and then eventually chairing the MDC itself. 
Then it folded. 
I swear, it wasn't (entirely) my fault!Anyway, these days I mostly do commercial and fine art photography, play my tuba and do some writing. I'm on the board of the Vista Expertise Network, too, and am keeping my hand in the ongoing discussions and efforts to revive the MUMPS standards. What can I say, once you're infected with MUMPS there is cure!
