Hi Mumpsters!

I'm a 59 year old MUMPS developer living in New York City. I have the great fortune and pleasure of developing new open source VistA packages for a living. I've spent the last three years working on the CCR Package and developing ePrescribing (eRx) for Oroville Hospital (no link yet). Recently, I've also been working on the C0Q Quality Reporting Package. All of these packages are needed to get VistA certified for Meaningful Use. I am a Vice President of WorldVistA.

I learned almost everything I know about MUMPS programming and VistA from Paideia (Thank you Paideia!). I was in the first class (which was my introduction to MUMPS) and have been part of all of the additional classes since. I'm really looking forward to continuing to learn and find ways to help.

I came to health care in 2000 as a HIPAA consultant after a 25 year career as a management consultant and sometimes software architect, developer, and executive. You can read more about me on my linkedin profile. I am a tango dancer and have two beautiful grown daughters.

Welcome, George!

George is one of the guinea pigs upon whom I inflicted the early versions of the Paideia classes. I can't tell you how much it thrills me that some of our students are off developing production code for VISTA.
