Hi All,

I just wanted to say "Hi" and make a quick intro. My name is Patrick and I am Sr. Programmer Analyst working for a company called Quest Diagnostics. Although Mumps/Cache is used at Quest I work in our "Pick" environment, specifically UniData. I have worked with Pick for the last 20+ years. My one and only language which I really do enjoy working with.

My interest in Mumps came about because InterSystems was marketing their Cache product to the Pick (Multi-Value) market and it caught my interest. I downloaded the evaluation version and was able to move my personal UniData accounts into Cache. From what I understand Cache is the evolution of Mumps.

I now have the desire to learn Mumps and will be taking the online course and reading a couple books I purchased. Since both Mumps and Cache are used within our environment it may open up some opportunities down the road.

Thanks for having me!
Patrick

Welcome Patrick!

Feel free to jump into the MUMPS Programming I course - it's self paced. The more the merrier.

Never worked with Pick but heard it has similarities to MUMPS.

Good Luck!
