Inside the VA, I have been told to add DBIAs to my routines in order to be allowed to distribute (internally to VA, so far). I have no experience with these (just getting Forum access now) and it seems like an overwhelming requirement. Would appreciate any tips on how to get through it from this group (so far not getting much from VA).

So exactly what to you need to do?
Put in comments that refer to the DBIAs you are using?
or negotiate with the primary "owner" of the data you use
to guarantee that it won't be changed without notifying you?

I have been told by Region 1 to find DBIAs that have already been negotiated; so I suppose that means the DBIAs "I am using". Just trying to see the best way to make this happen.

This points up a need. The VistApedia wiki has a page for DBIAs (Data Base Integration Agreements) that points to the VA's download site, ( http://www.vistapedia.net/index.php?title=DBIA ) we could have a page for each of the DBIAs but they would need to be maintained. If anyone wants to help do so, please contact me. (David Whitten 713-870-3834)

Another Idea I have had was to augment ZINDEX to help automate this task, but it would need a lot of data to do so, and the current DBIA listing is over 9 megabytes.
