Post subject:  Digging in the distant past

I'm Bob Supnik, a long-time veteran of DEC, now retired. My hobby is simulating historical systems (SimH - and bring up ancient software. The 18bit PDP family (PDP-1, PDP-4/7/9/15) has been a particular focus.

The 18bit PDPs were the original home of MUMPS, but except for a partial assembly listing on BitSavers and a few manuals, all traces of the original MUMPS systems have vanished. MUMPS-15 is the last major operating systems for the 18bit PDPs that is still missing. If you have any artifacts from that era - listings, manuals, or better yet, source tapes - please let me know.

MUMPS-11 is also missing, for that matter.

G'day Bob,

I believe I have a source tape of DSM-11; will have to check.

I also have manuals from MUMPS-11 V4B.

For MUMPS-15, I suggest you need to track down Harry Star (used to live a bit south of Brisbane).

Ray Newman.
